Catering Aluminium Foil Rolls

Long-run foil for professional kitchens — 76 mm core, 50 to 300 metres per roll, in 8011-O for general wrapping and 3003-O where the foil has to survive heat. Supplied to food service distributors, bakery groups and BBQ chains.

A 76 mm core is not a detail — it is what lets the roll sit on a wall dispenser and rotate without collapsing. Smaller cores are quoted for household, not for kitchens.

Where it goes

Behind the pass,
not on the shelf.

Catering foil is bought by whoever runs the kitchen, not by a category manager. That buyer cares about three things: does it tear cleanly at speed, does the roll last a shift, and does the dispenser stay put on a wet stainless bench.

Restaurant kitchens

Line wrapping, tray covers and portioning. 450 mm × 100 m on a wall dispenser is the workhorse format.

Bakeries & pastry

Tray lining and proofing covers. Foil that releases cleanly and does not tear at the fold.

BBQ & grill operations

Wide 600 mm rolls for grate lining and large-item wrapping, where heat resistance matters.

Takeaway & fast food

High-volume wrapping where the roll changes daily and the cost per metre is the whole argument.

Hotel & institutional catering

Banqueting and central kitchens operating on a fixed replenishment cycle and a written spec.

Food service distributors

Own-label programmes for cash-and-carry and HORECA distributors — your brand, our rewind.

Core size

Why 76 mm
and not 38.

This single dimension decides whether a roll can be hung, spun and pulled one-handed during service. It is the most common specification error we see in enquiries that arrive from household buyers moving into food service.
Household standard

38 mm core

Light rolls, short lengths, hand-held use. Sits in a domestic dispenser or on a counter.

  • Rolls typically 5–100 m
  • Cannot carry a 300 m roll without deforming
  • Not compatible with commercial wall dispensers
  • Correct for retail and consumer packs
Catering standard

76 mm core

Long rolls under tension, mounted on a dispenser with a spindle through the bore. Stays round under load.

  • Rolls typically 50–300 m
  • Carries the weight without collapsing the core
  • Fits standard HORECA dispenser spindles
  • Correct for kitchens, bakeries and distributors
Packing options

Four ways
to ship a long roll.

A 300 m roll is heavy and unforgiving. The packing is what stops it arriving out of round — which is why we quote carton construction, not just carton count.
Distributor

Single roll, shrink

One roll per pack, protected on the rim. Pallets stack flat and load tight.

Most requested

2-roll carton

The standard export format. Dividers hold both rolls upright, no rim contact.

High volume

4-roll carton

Better cube for short 50 m rolls. Reduces carton handling on a busy replenishment cycle.

Re-export

Neutral carton

Plain board, no branding. For importers relabelling locally or distributing onward.

Anything outside these rows is still quotable — width and length are set at the slitting stage, so non-standard is a matter of confirmation, not capability.

On this product

8011 or 3003,
and when it matters.

The two questions that decide a catering foil order — answered plainly, including where the cheaper option is the right one.
When do I need 3003 instead of 8011?

Only when the foil sits close to heat. 8011-O is softer, wraps tightly and is the right choice for wrapping, tray covers and portioning. 3003-O is a stronger alloy that resists sagging and puncturing at temperature — oven lining, direct-flame grilling, long bake cycles. If your customer is a normal restaurant kitchen, 8011 will do the job at a lower cost. If they are a BBQ chain or a bakery running high-heat trays, the upgrade pays for itself in fewer tears.

100 m, 200 m or 300 m — how do I choose?

Choose by how often the kitchen changes a roll, not by unit price. A busy line that goes through a roll a day wants 300 m to cut the number of changes; a lower-volume kitchen is better served by 100 m, because a long roll left mounted for weeks picks up damage at the exposed edge. Many distributors stock both and let the customer decide.

Will the roll fit standard dispensers?

The 76 mm bore fits the standard HORECA spindle used across most commercial wall and bench dispensers. Note the outer roll diameter as well as the core: a 300 m roll at 15 μm is a large diameter and will not sit in a compact household-style dispenser. If your market uses a specific dispenser brand, tell us the model and we will confirm the maximum diameter before you order.

Can I print my brand on catering rolls?

Yes, but understand what it buys you. Catering foil is usually opened in a back-of-house, so printed cartons matter more than printed rolls — they carry your identity where the distributor's buyers see it. We print the carton and can add a branded core plug or a printed wrap band. Full-wrap printing on the foil itself is possible at high volume; it is rarely worth the cost at container quantities.

Is the material food-contact compliant?

Supplied food-contact grade, with a mill test certificate per lot. Third-party reports from SGS or Intertek can be arranged against FDA 21 CFR 175.300, EU 1935/2004 or LFGB — tell us which one your customer or customs authority requires. We quote testing separately rather than burying it in the unit price.
